Best High Speed Blenders

Blender Table

Why do you need a high-speed blender?

A blender that can get to speeds as high as 250 mph, and made from indestructible plastic the same material used on rockets seems a bit excessive, right?

That is where you are wrong, such machine is an essential kitchen item on your healthy living journey. High-speed blenders are able to perform certain tasks that an average blender is not able to do and can also save you a lot of time and money. Particularly in the case of my own experience.

I make my own nut butters, grind coffee beans, blend soups hot and ready to serve, frozen desserts, curry pastes and sauces, and grind my own flour.

I purchased my high-powered blender 5 years ago and I haven’t looked back (and I’ll have you know it has shown no signs of slowing down). If you wish to eat more raw foods or start eating whole unprocessed foods it is an essential appliance.

Eat-Mor-Raw-Food

Everyone has a basic home blender, but have you ever attempted to make a smoothie but instead of drinking a nice smooth drink you are left chewing on raw bits of kale. Such events won’t happen in a high-speed blender.

They are able to break everything down and extract all the nutrients out of the food. Helping you to easily squeeze extra vitamins and minerals into your hectic schedules.

Benefits of purchasing a high-speed blender include:

  • Replace other household appliances such as a food processor or a grinder
  • Save you money by making your own sauces, marinades, pulses, and flour
  • Save time takes a matter of seconds-minutes to blend anything
  • reduce prep time whilst cooking by chopping ingredients in the blender

Another cool feature is the ability to make soups ready to serve immediately. Simply add roast pumpkin stock and some spices and blend. Due to the speed of the blade, the friction generated can even heat the liquid creating a delicious warm soup ready to serve right away.

Below I have made a comparison of 5 blenders using a variety of factors deemed important for a blender.

1. Oster VERSA 1400-watt Professional Performance Blender BLSTVB-RV0-000

Oster VERSA 1400-watt Professional Performance Blender BSTVB-RV0-000

Cost $299.99

Blender power

A high-speed blender with a powered 1,400-watt motor. Not the most high powered blender on the market but is definitely up there and more than enough to blend any smoothie, crush ice or make a variety of pulses.

Blender speed

Produces 28,000 rpm, making the 6-blade blades spin up to 250 mph.

Blender blade and motor

It is an all-metal drive, no plastic or other such materials that commonly getting worn, and are prone to leakages or breaks. Thus, making it a very durable appliance that can be used repeatedly.

Blender pitcher/jar

This is a low profile jug, therefore, easy for storage and getting food out of the jar. The jug is made out of Tritan copolyester so very durable. The jug is clear so you are easily able to see what you are blending. The jar is 64oz. so plenty enough volume to make smoothies for you and the whole family.

Functionality/ease of use

Short jug makes getting food in and out easy. Very easy to clean just add warm water and soap and blend. Has preset programs and 8 variable speeds making it simple to create a whole host of things. For the first time they have included a tamper, so if any of the food comes up the side of the jug it may be pushed down towards the blade safely. Bonus inclusion is two recipe books.

Warranty

One of the best on the market with a 7-year warranty.

Financial cost

One of the more reasonable high-speed blenders at $299.99 and there are frequent discounts/sales. Be careful purchasing second hand, the warranty is non-transferrable.

Versatility

As with any high-speed blender, the Oster VERSA can make any of the previously mentioned above with ease.

2. Vitamix 5200 Professional Grade Blender

Nut Butters, Hot Soups, Baby Food

Disclaimer I am quite biased towards the Vitamix having owned one for the past 5 years. It is one of the more well-known brands on the market has been around for years, and there is a reason for it. It is a durable powerful machine that can cut through absolutely anything with ease and can outlast the majority of the blenders on the market.

Blender power

The motor is 1800-watts.

Blender speed

Capable of spinning the blades up to 37,000 rpm.

Blender blade and motor

The motor is an 1800-watt, Swedish built motor is capable of spinning the blades up to 37,000 rpm. Though the motor is designed and manufactured in Sweden, the rest of the product is manufactured and assembled in the United States, in Cleveland, Ohio. The Vitamix is self-cleaning with an inbuilt fan. If it does overheat the motor will cut out and the machine will need to be reset, this a protective mechanism developed.

Blender pitcher/jar

The Vitamix 5200 stands 20.5” tall when the 64 oz container is sitting atop the motor base. The base itself measures 7.25″ wide, 8.75″ deep and weighs 11 lbs. This makes it quite a bulky appliance that is difficult to store away and move. I would recommend finding a spot it would fit into your kitchen before purchasing, due to its height it is hard to fit into most kitchen cupboards.

Functionality/ease of use

The Vitamix 5200 is controlled by manual switches and a speed dial. It does not have a touchpad or preprogrammed settings like some of the other high-performance blenders. You are able to control the speed with one switch and turn the machine on and off with the other. From personal experience, I appreciate the simplicity and it can achieve everything the other high powered blenders, you just have to learn how to operate the switches. Vitamix was the first also to introduce a tamper an ingenious tool mentioned above.

Warranty

One of the best on the market with a 7-year warranty.

Financial cost

One of the more expensive high-speed blenders at $450.00 and there are frequent discounts/sales. Be careful purchasing second hand, the warranty is non-transferrable.

Versatility

As with any high-speed blender, the Vitamix can make any of the previously mentioned above with ease.

3. Cleanblend 1800 watt commercial blender

The Cleanblend is strong more powerful blender than the Oster Versa and half the price of the Vitamix, but this blender comes with only a five-year warranty, in contrast to the seven years from Vitamix or Oster. Clean blend is also relatively new compared to the aforementioned only being around since 2013 so long term faults and consistency cannot be determined.

Blender power

1800-watt making it more powerful than the Oster and Vitamix.

Blender speed

Capable of spinning the blades up to 38,000 rpm.

Blender blade and motor

6 blade stainless steel system all metal blade assembly like both previous blenders making it extremely durable and hard wearing.

Blender pitcher/jar

The jug is a 64oz BPA free Tritan copolyester durable against heat and shock, however, like the Oster Versa it is quite thin and reports of cracks have been made after 1-2years use. there is a 32 oz. option for smaller batch options. Like the Vitamix it is a bulky machine so storage and moving it around can be quite difficult.

Functionality/ease of use

Similar to the Vitamix 5200 it is controlled by manual switches and a speed dial, no touchpad or preprogrammed settings like some of the other high-performance blenders. You are able to control the speed with one switch and turn the machine on and off with the other. From personal experience, I appreciate the simplicity and it can achieve everything the other high powered blenders, you just have to learn how to operate the switches. The bulky container also makes removing food from the jug quite difficult. A tamper is included and the same cleaning process described above is recommended. Does not include any recipe books.

Warranty

Includes a 5-year warranty less than the Oster and Vitamix.

Financial cost

~$200, half the price of a Vitamix and less than the Oster Versa, making it a very reasonable entry level blender.

Versatility

As with any high-speed blender, the Cleanblend can make any of the previously mentioned above with ease. However, the low speed is still quite quick making functions like chopping quite difficult.

4. The Ninja Chef 1500-watt blender

The Ninja Chef™ Blender features a 1500-watt motor with a variable speed range. You can choose between the 10 pre-set Auto-iQ® programs or switch to Manual mode for total variable speed control from 7,000 to 18,000 RPM.

Blender blade and motor

Stainless steel blade system, as with the previous blenders the blade is not able to be removed.

Functionality/ease of use

You can Choose between the 10 Auto-iQ programs or switch to Manual mode for total variable speed control. To perform a whole host of different recipes, with the option of switching to manual mode.

Only a one year warranty, but it is also the cheapest option of all five. There have been many reports of manufacturing faults and problems occurring within the warranty and just outside, but it is difficult to discern if this is due to manufacturing or costumer fault.

Financial cost

The cheapest option at $150

Versatility

As with any high-speed blender, the Cleanblend can make any of the previously mentioned above with ease. With the addition of 10 preselected options.

5. The Froothie optimum 9200 blender

OPTIMUM 9200A

The Froothie blender, probably the most unknown out of all the blenders especially against the notable big name Vitamix. However it packs the most punch, combing both power, durability and good warranty without breaking the bank, sounds pretty good right?

Blender power

2,611-watt motor almost doubles that of all other blenders above.

Blender speed

The motor is capable of spinning the blades up to 44,000 rpm again the most out of all reviewed.

Blender blade and motor

Stainless steel 6 blade system, as with the previous blenders the blade is not able to be removed and the metal contraction makes it durable and hard wearing and therefore prevents any leaks.

Blender pitcher/jar

Plastic BPA free jug that is 64 oz. Similar dimensions to that of the Vitamix making removing liquid from the jug difficult.

Functionality/ease of use

Comes with a tamper tool and automatic blending options for smoothies (blends automatically for a set period of time, perfect for people on the run; 20, 30 & 45 seconds). There are only 2 dials utilized making it simple and foolproof to operate. Two other cool features include Built-in sensor to detect over-usage; prolonging the life of vortex blender and a system they term Green Energy Consumption: the carbon brush motor only draws the power demanded, therefore, conserving energy.

Warranty

Only a one year warranty, but it is also the cheapest option of all five. There have been many reports of manufacturing faults and problems occurring within the warranty and just outside, but it is difficult to discern if this is due to manufacturing or costumer fault.

Smoothie Book

Financial cost

Not the cheapest option but for what it has to offer at $480 I think you get the most bang for your buck with this option.

Versatility

As with any high-speed blender, the Froothie can make any of the previously mentioned above with ease. With the addition of the preselected options. Comes with a 76-page recipe book
